If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate this St. Patrick’s Day, you’re in luck! Newport

Beach is filled with Irish Pubs and we’re happy to introduce you to your new favorite spot.

You may know March 17th as a day filled with bright green decor, the fear of getting pinched,

and drinks with friends, but where did this all come from? Here’s one way to answer: Irish

folklore tells us that leprechauns are known for pinching those who are not wearing green. Lucky

for us, wearing green makes us invisible to them! Others wear green because they believe it

brings good luck and it represents Ireland’s nickname, The Emerald Isle.

The association of alcohol with this holiday is also significant in Irish culture. March 17th is a

celebration of Saint Patrick’s death day, who was a patron Saint of Ireland. Christians were

allowed to let go of their Lenten food and alcohol restrictions on this day, making excessive

drinking the norm.

Nowadays, it’s a celebration of it all! We honor Saint Patrick’s death, embrace Irish history and

traditions, and have a fun time doing so.

Malarkey’s Irish Pub

We’ve mentioned Malarkey’s before, and now couldn’t be a better time to check them out!

They’re known for their lively nightlife and will be serving green beer this St. Paddy’s Day.

They’ll also be partnering with Newps The Social Club for a bar crawl. Doors will be open from

7:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. so you can enjoy the festivities all day long. Their photo booth and darts

(which are available from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.) sound like a blast too.

Muldoon’s Irish Pub

Muldoon’s is ready to deliver an authentic St. Paddy’s Day experience. From traditional Irish

grub to festive green beer, and a live bagpipe performance – it’s a cultural treat. It won’t be hard

to notice their beautiful architecture, and plenty of seating to choose from including two pubs, a

patio, and a dining area. Early birds get the party started at 7 a.m., and the bagpipes kick off at

noon!

The Shamrock Irish Pub and Eatery

This traditional Irish Pub will introduce you to the Emerald Isle without ever leaving Newport.

It’s the go-to spot for a proper Guinness and friendly service. Some popular dishes include their

traditional Irish breakfast, fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, and corned beef and cabbage. If you’re

looking for a home away from home you’ve found the right place! Their kitchen will be open

from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. but drinks are served until 11:30 p.m. Cheers to that!

Fable and Spirit

Are you looking for a more modern dining experience, but with a twist? Fable and Spirit blends

Irish Folklore with a menu filled with bold flavors. No wonder they have a page dedicated to

their press! And let's not forget about their vibrant turquoise interior, adding to the upbeat and

busy atmosphere. On Sunday, from 5-8:30 p.m., they'll be serving up their usual but delicious

dinner menu. Your tastebuds will be in for a lucky day!
